Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I appreciate the re-education:). Just passing on what I thought to be legit info passed on to me by old military guy so assumed would be accurate. Thanks for shutting my nonsense down and providing accurate info. It makes sense and is more logical. ?
  2. I would stay away from break/carb cleaner on firearms. They pull any and ALL oils/moisture from the material it is applied to. Over time the metal will become brittle and cause pre mature failure in the metallic structure. Over time the oil you apply absorbs into ( " seasons") the metal like an iron skillet and pro longs the life of the metal.
  3. I think I'm finally starting to understand finding my calmness and not rushing. My first two stages I ran today I felt like I was rushing and it was a terrible feeling. I think I was allowing the other shooters to dictate how fast I should be going. So on the following stages I would ignore how the others were doing and set my mind to just shooting the stage I was on and not worry about the time perception and mainly to not rush. WOW. What a difference it made. I ran so much smoother and felt so much better and getting my points was easy instead of struggling through the stage. And the biggest thing was no mental mistakes. I was able to execute my stage plans flawlessly. Now.... If I can just continue to find that calmness consistently at future matches
  4. You can, but probably won't be able to. Depends mainly on your comp. most comps have to be "timed," meaning the side/top ports need to be oriented the correct direction to push the gas the correct direction and make the comp work like it's designed. If you use the old one it probably won't allow you to line them up properly, but you can try. I would get a couple new ones.
  5. If I am reading the issue correctly, if the striker spring is too light or not strong enough could cause similar issue.
  6. Thanks for the info guys. i just put together an open Glock to play around with and can't find any powder just like everyone else. Was able to get a hold of a pound of Longshot to play with and was seeing what info was out there for Major and Minor loads. Guess that is why i could find little to no info on it. Think i will just work up some steel loads. I'm shooting the Pro Am so will need to be able to knock steel down. i'm loading 124 MG CMJ at 1.150. Should I start out around 6.5gr or higher/lower? I have limited access to a chrono right now so I dont't want to waist time loading test batch to low or high. Any input would be great. G17/ KKM/ Carver 5 port
  7. Thanks very much. That helps a lot. I haven't been able to find much info. Your numbers will help give me a good starting point to work up from.
  8. Anyone have any load info for Major and/or Minor PF using Longshot for Open Glock 17. Thanks for the help.
  9. Same as above.. but also.. follow through with your sight picture. You are transitioning to new target too soon.
