Hi Viz kits come with the correct threaded stud if you want a smaller but brighter, well defined dot. Might take some work to fish the end of the broken stud out. GunCat Posted June 19, 2014 Share Posted June 19, 2014 What part snapped off? The whole bead - or just the fiber optic insert? If you are drilling out the broken bead shank (where it is stuck in the rib) use #45 drill and tap the hole 3-56 (most gunsmiths have this size on hand). The 3-56 is more common and it is so close to the original metric M2.5x45 thread that the two are interchangeable. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
