ffl
What is the best method to tighten the barrel in the slide. This is a bull barrel so there is no bushing. dcs
Toolguy
Cut a groove on the lathe and put in a silicone O ring!
Parallax3D
If you have a VERY good gunsmith, they could put a TIG weld bead around the circumference, then re-fit the barrel.
z40acp
Are the barrel lugs going up all the way and getting full engagement?
ffl
Thank you all for your suggestions. However I was able to deterimine that it was not the barrel in the slide but the slide itself had more vertical play than I thought permissible. I borrowed a set of rail tools from a friend of mine and after 2 hours of fitting the slide is very tight with no play and smooth. Will put on the ransom rest tomorrow with some loads and see if that fixed the problem. The other Bianchi Gun I built shoots quarter sized groups at 50 yards. it is a 38 super and I built it from scratch with caspian parts. This one was an Armscor frame and I modified it to fit a 9mm Caspian slide. Just needed more work I guess.
JohnRodriguez
I use a Jarvis barrel with adjustable collet on the front of the barrel. you can make it as tight as you want. Edited April 12, 2014 by JohnRodriguez
