backplate on M&P CORE

I've never heard of what you are describing. Sounds as though you may have not put something back together properly. The back plate should be under a good deal of tension.

If you purchased one of the "cool" aluminum aftermarket back plates, then it may have a little slop. Mine do. It would not seem that it should do anything to affect accuracy whether tight or more loose.

Yes, I have a retaining plate slide racker made out of aluminum. It is ridiculously loose any wobbley. Recently I've been noticing a lack of accuracy, and I'm just trying to eliminate all possibilities. I also doubt that this is contributing to my "percieved" lack of consistancy in my groups at 25 yrds... (if they can be called groups), but thought I'd give it a shot and ask.

I got one of the SSS slide rackers too, and its loose. I cut a long strip of electrical tape, and ran it along the edges of the cap. Nice an snug, and it hasn't worked loose even after 1k rounds of 40.
