Jnietzel
New to the world of competitive shooting! I thought I'd have fewer questions after I shot my first match last week but it seems the amount has been multiplied instead of reduced! So grateful to have found this forum and all it has to offer. Best Regards!

Steve H
where did you shoot your first match? Rio Salado, Phoenix Rod and Gun Club, or Ben Avery? Lots of great places to shoot here in the Valley!
Jnietzel
I shot my first match at Ben Avery last Thursday! I spectated at about 5 matches before I took the plunge! Three at Rio (including Spring Steel...AWESOME!) and two at Phoenix R&G. Some friends were in town from Canada and shot every match they could the two weeks they were here and I got to tag along! They met a fellow Canadian who's a member at Ben Avery and he invited me to try it out! I'd like to shoot at all three places but it's too tough to get to Rio after work on Tuesdays before 1900 and PR&G starts even earlier. Ben Avery is closest to my work/house, so I'll be shooting there for a while! Do you have a favorite?

Steve H
I shoot mostly at Rio Salado, USPSA and Tuesday Steel.....have been shooting a little more IDPA at South Mountain on the weekends a bit, and the Tuesday night IDPA match. I haven't shot IDPA for a few years, and enjoy it, and need the match practice for the upcoming State match in Tucson. I don't get up to Ben Avery much, since I have lived in the way east valley. Whichever place you choose to shoot, there are lots of good people and you are in the heart of the action pistol universe. Steve
Leadpilot
Welcome! Is that a pilot headset in your pic? I was in AZ in October and got a chance to check out Ben Avery...wow! If you added up every range within 100 miles of me(Cali of course) they would only be a 1/3 of the size of BA.
