rsgirdner
I have loaded 220gr SMK bullets with 9.9gr of Win 296. This load worked great with my Advance Armament 12" SBR with Gemtech HVT suppressor. My problem is that the Sierra Match King 220gr bullet is next to impossible to find. So I purchased some Lapua 220gr Scenar-L bullets. Once I received the Lapua bullets, I noticed that they were much longer than the SMK bullets. My question is since the amount of space in the case will be less with the Lapua bullet do I need to change my powder charge amount to keep the bullet speed subsonic? I have searched for a subsonic load for the Lapua bullet but have not found any load data for the 220gr Scenar-L bullet for the 300 Blackout. Dawgfish
OKWEBER.com has 220's SMK's. Brunoshooters.com has them as well. I'm assuming you are trying to load a subsonic.

Price will be Powder Valley new price adjusted for what is left + shipping.
Tom Freeman
Come down about .4-.6 off what the Sierra 220 calls for. Then you have to start over. As always with subs, shoot them on paper at 25 yards to make sure the entire bullet, not just the core, make it out of the barrel. Dont forget to do initial load development without a can on.
