spikers220
Hey guys. I am buying an STI Edge and found a nice one locally. I am very unfamiliar with the 2011 guns and what to know what to look for or watch out for? The gun has some work done on it by two well known smiths. It has a couple thousand rounds through it as well. Any help would be great....
Paul-the new guy
shake it, does it rattle? look at the breech face and see if it is flat or does it have some wear and erosion? shoot it, does it group well? Does it make power factor with a load that you know should make power factor. Look at the locking lug areas on the barrel and in the slide are they nice and square or rounding off? look at the slide stop and see if there are flat spots
Noah my boy
If you can shoot it before you buy make sure it cycles and if you need .40 mags hit me up I have some to let go:) if it's only been shot 2k rounds it's got to be very tight. gearguywb
If you are not familiar with 1911 pattern guns find a friend to help you out. There is no way to truly describe on a forum what to look for.
