Contacts verses Glasses?

I have pretty severe astigmatism, too, and I found that contacts would usually shift and blur out at exactly the wrong time. Or pop out. Or dry out. Or otherwise make nuisances of themselves. So I just wear glasses. Simple, and you'd have to wear eyewear anyhow, as safety equipment, so why not put your correction in it?

Multi-focal contacts are what my doc suggested for clear vision near and far. Anyone have experience with these?

Eyeglasses won't work well when you have to correct both near and far since with bi focals you'd have to shift your head to change between seeing far and nears....

Also, if you are using a front sight focus for all your targets you are probably shooting slower than you could be ... I'm currently able to use a target focus for any open target 15 yds or closer. If I did the dominant eye close focus thing i wouldn't be able to do hat ...

I just made the switch to disposables. I only wear contacts when shooting since it came out cheaper than updating the prescription for my Rudy's every year. So far so good, but it took a lot of trial and error to find a pair that was both comfortable and clear at the required distances. I feel like I'm still experimenting with what brand of lenses is best so I'll see where I end up after this season.
