ErikW
Now that full-capacity magazines are once again fully legal in most U.S. states, how about helping me out on a few? Namely, .308 magazines for the Armalite AR-10 and DPMS LR .308. First, does the DPMS use the same magazine as the AR-10? Do you still have to buy an M-14/M1A magazine and modify it or what? Can you buy 20-round mags ready to go? Also, are there any reliable 30-round mags for these rifles?
Zak Smith
You can buy new AR10 mags from Armalite for around $30, I think.
Wakal
The DPMS gun uses SR25 mags. The Armalite uses M14 mags. Cheaper Than Dirt has some steel 30-round M14 mags that (with some judicious mill work) are functional in my AR10. Cheap, too. Alex
bgary
Armalite 20-rounders go for about $39. I have some in the classifieds for 35 OBO, if anyone is interested. New in wrapper, I'll pay shipping. Bruce
bulm540
Armalite is manufacturing new 20 rounders. they are even selling their M1A mags leftover.
John Dunn
Anyone have a line on SR25 mags? I'd love to get a couple 20 rounders for the Tubb.
ErikW
OK, so are the SR25 mags widely available (or in production)? Is DPMS going to make them?
Chris Rhines
Are the SR-25 mags available? Yes. They run $80-100 apiece. Are they in current production? I think that they are, but I'm not sure how many are being offered for civvie sales. Will DPMS be making 20-round mags for the Panther? According to DPMS, yes. Open question as to when they will hit the market. - Chris
bgary
DPMS *is* making 20-round steel mags, and says that they will be shipping them starting next week (of course, they've been saying they are "about to start shipping them" since October, so ymmv). They are priced at $59 each. However, they do seem to be offering some sort of trade-in program for the 2 10-round plastic mags. for details, call DPMS and ask for "Shane".
