jayjay1
Hey guys, I´m looking for the best red dot for the money. It should be - stable - reliable - light - have a wide eyeview - easy to find the dot - flat - have an easy adjustable brightness - have a clear dot .... Did I forget anything? What is the best offer for the money?
kneelingatlas
That really depends on how you plan to mount it. I drilled my frame and used a horizontal C-More Slide Ride: If you don't want to drill the frame or machine the slide you can get a mount to fit in the dovetail for the rear sight: Edited October 4, 2013 by kneelingatlas
jayjay1
Nice CZ´s there. Both are C-MORE´s, aren´t they? The first one seems to be much bigger and so heavier? How is the view there to the left? By the way, the screen of the first seems to be bigger too, what would be good.
kneelingatlas
The Slide Ride has a plastic body so it's not much weight. That big piece of glass sitting right on top of the slide was my first red dot and it ruined me for all others! I shot a 2011 with a vertical Slide Ride and it seemed sooo tall. I also bought a pistol with a Burris Fast Fire II on top: also too tall and a tiny piece of glass to boot! Some complain about the blind spot on the left, but I've never noticed. If you ask me, there's nothing better except maybe this custom unit by one of the more handy forum members: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=177612
jayjay1
This looks dang good. This one, yes? http://www.cmore.com/slideride.html How is it mounted and how wide is the dot? Is this full power (kinda overlightning)? Edited October 4, 2013 by jayjay1
kneelingatlas
That's the one. It's mounted like this:
jayjay1
Did you built this mount on your own? The effort is, that you can mount deeper, right? Is it worth the more weight?
kneelingatlas
It's Matt Cheely's mount for the Czechmate, I adapted an air soft thumb rest, but the mounting hardware was cheesy and broke, so I mounted directly to the C-More mount:
