I'm having problems loading 223 on my 650

Be sure you have the "A" funnel installed, and the groove is oriented upward. You don't flare cases on 223s. Be sure the spring-loaded tab at the primer station is adjusted to within .002-.003" of touching the case to keep it from coming out of the shellplate. You may also have the shellplate too loose. Push down on the edge of the shellplate at station 4. If it feels springy, then the bolt needs to be tighter.

A little off topic, but since you say this, why do the 1050 swage back up rods flare cases on rifle calibers? I put mine on a lathe and took off that part of them, but I wonder why you ship them that way.

The 1050 swage rod doesn't flare, but you can adjust it so it puts a step in the case mouth when you are loading flat base bullets

Mmmm you say potato. Generally the brass web thickness dictates where you need to put the back up rod, so you don't get much choice in the matter if you actually want to get a good swage on there. Oh well, it's a minor issue at best.
