ClutchUSMC
Ok so it goes about half way, and spins freely all the way when I push it. But it's only going half way. I've pulled it apart and cleaned and lubed. Any other suggestions?
DougCarden
Check the index spring on the arm that has the index pawl on it. If you don't have the spring on right it won't index correctly, or all the time..... DougC
ClutchUSMC
Checked the spring. It appears to be installed correctly. The brass roller was a little dinged up so I flipped to to the fresh side, still no joy. It's like the arm isn't being pushed far enough, It's not contacting the stop and not going far enough to index the shell plate.
PROBIKE101
sounds like it not returning to lock back into the shell plate?
ClutchUSMC
Wrapped some tape to increase the OD of the roller and it's working now.

Too_Slow
I had a similar problem recently. I found that I had to strip down the machine and clean it because the machine was no longer going through the full travel to the top of the stroke. It has been working fine since then. Longhill
Check the indexer stop screw....back left side of press. There is a allen head screw under one of the locator pins, that limits how much or little the pawl pushes the shell plate when the handle is returned to the top position.
