Converting Kimber Pro Carry 2 to a 5 inch slide

Hello all,

The question that I have is can you use a 5 inch slide on a pro carry frame, aka commander size. I have looked everywhere for a solid answer on the topic but with zero luck so far. I understand that there will be fitting involved but I just dont want it to turn into a project that could never work. The reason is I would like to make it into a 9mm for PPC type shooting utilizing the single stack frame. Your answers will be greatly appreciated.

The dust cover on the frame will be too short, the recoil spring and guide rod will be exposed. It will work, but look funny and recoil system will be exposed to the elements.

If you want a 5 inch gun your better off selling it and buying a 5 inch gun as its gonna cost a

Pretty penny to have a new top end on and it still won't look right and you would be cheaper to just buy something like a spartan

Good luck finding a9mm Spartan right now. I would give a loaded springfield a hard look. They come with either a Novak or bomar rear. But for ppc wouldn't you want the aristocrat tri sight (think that's what its called).

Thanks everyone, that's pretty much what I gathered as well, I'll just keep looking around for something more suitable.
