shotslow
I am planning to get a Cylinder & Slide Ambidextrous Magazine Release 1911 and want to put it on my 1911 9mm Springfield. I have small hands and just found out what can be done with a right hand magazine release. Does anyone know if it will fit I like to shoot to do Single Stack. I have already changed to a right hand magazine release on my M&P 40 Pro. I am right handed. I push with my middle finger and do not have to reach across the grip. My mag changes have gotten faster and with more control. I shoot Limited with this handgun.
Steve RA
I would assume it would fit, you might ask c&s if they have experience with one and that particular model gun.
TISCHLJ
I had a C&S on my Kimber- some models may require the inner frame to be relieved a bit. IMHO, the Mitchell RT side mag release is better built, albeit a little more $ and will fit just fine. I have one on my Kimber 1911 and a Trojan .40. They also make them for 2011's. Have 2 of those. They are rugged and smooth and have stood the test of time. SSI carries them- they are "drop in" and have worked flawlessly with Wilson, Tripp, STI and SV mags that I have run them with. This is not an "ambi" release though, RT side only with a nicely textured pad.
shotslow
Thanks for the replies. I have to give c&s a call. 90% of my use for a 45 acp 1911 is Cowboy Wildbunch shooting. Ambi mag release is not allowed. I do like the right side release on my M&P 40.
shotslow
Emailed C&S asking the question. They replied that yes it does fit Springfield 9mm 1911. Ordered one at Midway on backorder. Looks like it will cost $10 toe $15 more than from C&S but C&S does allow backorder.
