disassembly of "new" open 2011

Ok I have seen all the videos I can find and did a few searches here but cant find my answer...everything shows the long guide rod with a hole or a tooless rod unfortunately the used open sti i picked up shows no hole in it but does have the reversed plug. havent sorted out how to remove the guide rod and spring. Any one know of a video to remove full length without a hole for the magical paper clip?

Does it have an allen wrench socket on the front of the guide rod. If so you have a two piece guide rod and need to remove the front half.

Yeah, I would say the same thing, probably a 2 piece...

Thanks guys that is what it was. Took it out to my source of info at the local range...the seam between 2 parts was very fine and hiding under recoil spring when i looked for it

I have a different model and I think that I need to either remove the C-More or remove the comp. I had a heck of a time cleaning it before my steel match Saturday. For my first try with a 2011, I was very impressed. Now I need to work up some good handloads that work better than factory loads and better than the soft shooting 9's that I already have.
