jmorris
The plastic tip on the bottom of the tube is the Achilles heal of the system. I was really dissipointed after having them all in knowing the only Dillon that works all the time is the 650 as its the only one that has a brass tip on the primer tube. I have read of folks putting 650 tubes in other Dillons but as much as I like "improving" things, I prefer my record of hundreds of thousands of rounds loaded and never ADed a primer. My money is on the plastic tip of the primer tube. They will send you a few for free when you call. Other stuff that comes to mind is, make sure you don't have a small tip on a large primer PICKUP tube. Make sure you have the right cup and anvil for small primers installed and that the set screw is tight after it is seated FULLY in the slide. If you just swapped systems or the problem just started, you might want to start at the anvil first then the plastic tip. If you swap the tip out first it might get messed up if the anvil/cup is too high. Edited June 9, 2013 by jmorris

Yelrdog
I had serious problems recently with the "blue tip" (actually called the "small orifice"). Went to Dillon and they gave me a handful. Still had problems once I got home until I adjusted the set screw on the back of the priming system that regulates the movement of the primer slide. The slide wasn't moving back far enough to engage the "blue tip" so primers were failing to feed into the slide. Also, I discovered one of my primer pickup tubes didn't work very well. Primers would get hung up as they were dumped (which turns the press into a primer pachinko machine -- jackpot!!!). I just put that pickup tube aside but I guess I'll try cleaning it as others have suggested in other posts. I've had my SDB for about twenty years. I've "rebuilt" it once with the spare parts kit and replaced other parts. Basically, whenever I've had any problems they have been the result of 1) adjustments or 2) worn parts.
