Red Ryder
My standard load is 124 Gr MG CMJ 4.2 gr N320 1.135 AOL in same head stamped brass with a CCI or WSPP. 130ish PF. Can I substitute a 124 gr MG JHP and get the same results? Are the 124 gr MG CMJ and the 124 gr MG JHP an equal exchange?
Trident
I use a different OAL for the JHP and the JHP seems to be a little more accurate for me. For the JHP I use 4.4 N320 @1.120 = 132PF from MP 5". For the CMJ 1.130. The 124 CMJ @ 1.130 is the same as the JHP @ 1.117 The dif in the 147 to 124 JHP = .0605 and the 124 CMJ= .0475 Edited April 26, 2013 by Trident
gng4life
Pretty much, I did the same thing with my 9Major loads and the JHP just gave me a little better accuracy but that's all... Edited April 26, 2013 by gng4life
njl
I found I had to load the 124 JHP shorter to get acceptable accuracy from them...and then I got around 50fps more velocity out of them, all else being equal.
