bobert1
New to the sport and thinking of upgrading from Ruger P89 to Spfld XD9. Looked at the Glock 34 and saw the barrel treatment, and knowing that it is Production legal I wondered. Is the barrel on the XD V10 Ported model the same and also Prod. legal ? lynn jones
i'd say no. ported barrels aren't even allowed in limited. lynn

Is the barrel on the XD V10 Ported model the same and also Prod. legal ? The Glock 34 and 35 are not ported. There is a hole in the top of the slide but there are no ports in the barrel. I was told the cut is in the slide to lighten it because of the longer length. Guns like the Glock 17C and other guns that are ported are legal if the barrel is replaced with a non-ported barrel. Its all in the rules. Adam
Trey
The Glock 34 and 35 are not ported. Yup. It's a slide "cut." The 34 and 35 have the top cut out to make the slide mass equivalent to the 17/22. It's they can use the same recoil spring. (and save money on not having to produce another specialized part for that model)

bobert1
Thanks for your input. I had my doubts . When I checked the approved list on the members site it just said XD's were ok. Thanks for clearing the fog in my head.
