opticspecialist
hey guys, we carry these laserlyte training targets, and i've been using one to practice sight alignment and trigger control in my free time. has anyone else tried this and did it help you improve speed and accuracy? blind bat
I heard about them on the Gundudes podcast. I figure for <$150 I'd give it a try. I ordered the Reaction Tyme targets, should be here tomorrow. Too bad the 9mm laser cartridge is on back order everywhere. I guess I'll be using with the Crimson Trace grips on my j-frame for a while.
SquibRound
Check out laserammo.com. I have bough a combo set that includes a 9mm cartridge, a .40, .45 and 223 adaptor. I believe this cartridge will work with the Reaction Tyme targets, since I was looking into the same thing until I figured a more efficient method. blind bat
In case anyone is wondering, the Laserlyte targets didn't work with my Crimson Trace grips. Poop. Squib - thanks for the heads up. I'll take a look. What was the "more efficient method" you speak of? P.S. It looks like the site is laser-ammo.com Edited February 21, 2013 by blind bat
Bunsen
I have the laser lyte set. It is expensive and I would say it is only okay for dry fire practice. The target is relativly small so unless you are far you can get sloppy with it. If you are able to call your shots I think it is a waste of money. extremedistance
I picked up one for my daughter to practice with. really helps on the draw and press. I am very happy with mine
jkrispies
Just curious if these have a constant-on function so that it can be used as an actual laser bore sighter?

blind bat
Not on my 9mm model. However, I bet you could rig something. I noticed when you screw on the battery cap the laser flickers on and off. If you have a hammer fired gun you could push the firing pin forward and forward and manually trigger the laser.
blind bat
Notes on the ReactionTyme units: - Be careful not to drop them otherwise the battery contacts will need to be bent to reestablish contact. - The ReactionTyme units don't dispay where the laser hit. It juat beeps and flashes if there is a laser strike. - One of my units won't detect a laser strike at the top of the target. - The front sight on my CZ is narrow enough that I can see the laser strike through the rear sight notch without losing focus on the front sight. - The RT setting is a good stand-in for a timer set to random.
