392heminut
For 9, 38 or 40, yes, absolutely, 100%, anyone who says no is capital-W Wrong. For 45, no. You're saying a lot of people are wrong with that statement!
sludwin
i have the aftec in my comp gun, have regular extractors in the rest of my 1911's and never had a problem, but i still like the aftec.....eventually will put them in all my 1911's
amac
It's in my custom STI for 9mm. Supposedly more reliable for smaller calibers.
paopao
So from what others are saying is that aftec is not good on 45 cal pistols...
MikeRush
So from what others are saying is that aftec is not good on 45 cal pistols... I don't think anyone is saying it is not good for .45, the question is if its worth it. Usually in .45 a standard extractor tuned properly is all that is needed. I am planning on trying one on my upcoming .40 build.
EkuJustice
I think they are more useful in a 9mm and to an extent the 40 than a 45. My m open gun was a total jam o matic with even a tuned extractor. Would work for a hundred shots or so then go back to jamming. After I dropped the aftec in it has never had a problem. I'm up in the air about the 49 being useful and don't think it's needed in a
392heminut
What Eku said! I had to put one in a 38 Super Open gun to get it to run right, I never could get a regular extractor to work. No matter how much tuning I did it just wasn't reliable. I've never had any need for an Aftec in any of my 45 or 40 cal. guns.
