mbrody
Well, the bug has bitten, and now I find myself addicted to 3 guns instead of one. I need some help. Do high cap (over 10) magazines exist for the Shadow Custom Target that are pre 1994?
a.roberts
Pretty sure CZ 75 mags will fit and function. And I'm sure there were plenty made before 94. Not sure how'd you'd distinguish them from post-94 mags though.
daybreak
Why do you ask out of curiosity?
mbrody
State laws limit mag capacity for mags post 94. maybe serial #?
daybreak
I was wondering because in CA I know if you owned a high cap in CA prior to 2000, you can keep it. But you cannot manufacture, import, buy or sell them after 2000 in CA. Also, magazines do not have serial #s. Brent D
If you read posts on Calguns.net regarding Hi Cap magazines, there are many posts written by very knowledgeable California attorney's. The bottom line is that it is NOT illegal to own a HI Cap magazine in California. You cannot however, purchase them in this state. It is legal to order replacements tubes and guts for these magazines and have them shipped here. Edited November 14, 2012 by Brent D
bigdave24
Yes. 15 round cz 75 and mec-gar magazines are pre-ban. You can often find them at gun shows.
mbrody
Thanks. Is there any proof on the mag or is it just traced back to production? Just curious...
bigdave24
No proof on the mag, but I believe 15 round magazines were only made prior to 1994. 16 round mags may be pre or post ban, can't really tell. Obviously any mag labeled LEO was post ban. 18 or 19 round mags are all post ban. Edited November 15, 2012 by bigdave24
