Sig Shooter
I stopped by a small local gun store today and they had 6 1lb cans of CFE on the shelf for $18.95 each. I was wanting to use TAC or AA2230 but Wideners is still out of both. I am looking for some advice on the CFE. If it works well in progressives I may pick some up tomorrow. I was also wondering how sensitive it is to temp change?
MustangGreg66
I bought a pound a while back and have been meaning to work up a load for it and try it out. Hodgdon calls it a "spherical rifle propellant" meaning ball powder. I don't see why that wouldn't meter well. It's also listed in their load database as having some hot loads. I'm definitely taking a close look at it for next years multigun season.
Religious Shooter
Yeah... the flakes sort of look like Titegroup. It should meter very well. Book data is some of the fastest I've seen for 50's. I bought a pound as well to try.

DougCarden
CFE is the current military powder that was developed for the shorter barrel M4 Ar style guns. It meters well, and you will be surprised at the velocities you can get with it.....It is Good Stuff! DougC
