Sheperd80
Ive been shooting my 9 fullsize for about 6 months now. It consistently shoots high. At 10 yds or less its just barely above the sight but at around 25-30 yds its hitting 4-6 inches high. It could be me but its so consistent and predictable that ive gotten used to it. Is this normal poi for an m&p or do i have an issue? I like being able to see my target at longer distances but it seems like it should be a little closer to poa to me. Ive read about the early unlocking issues and all that, not sure if thats my problem but i went ahead and ordered an ISMI 17# recoil spring (factory is 16#). I figured it could be a cheap fix or atleast serve as a backup for when my factory spring wears out. For the record i shoot mainly 115gr cheap stuff (federal, wwb, etc). Any thoughts? Thanks. Dave C
You need to install a taller front sight to lower your point of impact.
Sheperd80
Well im sure that would work. Im using warren fiber optic sight (which is slightly taller than stock) with plain black rear. But i had the same issue with the stock sights so im thinking its something else.
Keninaz
The same was happening to mee too. I switched from a center of mass to a 6 o'clock hold and that helped b bunch. Kendall
Hi-Power Jack
Ryan, your POI depends on how your sights are adjusted for that particular load you're shooting. Best to shoot at a solid rest (resting your hands/arms, not the gun itself) and fire a 12 - 15 shot group. Three ways to lower the POI are: 1. raise the front or lower the rear sight 2. use a six o'clock hold 3. switch bullet weights - a lighter or heavier bullet will print higher or lower. Nothing wrong with your gun - you just have to make an adjustment to something to get your gun's POI where you want it, depending on how you hold the sights.
