Guy Neill
Generally, slower burn rate powders allow using more to provide more gas that can commonly utilize a longer barrel better Longer barrels usually equate to higher velocity Bullet weight - heavier = slower in a given cartridge Twist - heavier (longer) bullets normally need a faster twist, lighter (shorter) less twist though higher velocities will allow slower twist rates Most commonly seen twists are geared to the heaviest bullet normally seen for that bore/cartridge These are generalities, not absolutes. More information on what you are working with might allow more insights. Guy
