Sarge
I saw an STI 2011 recently that the thumb safety would go on safe even when the hammer is not cocked. What gives?
3gungeezer
Sounds like the safety was not fitted properly. I would bet if you pull the trigger the hammer will drop with the safety on.
diehli
They screwed up the pad on the safety, sear, or both.

We checked that. The hammer will not fall with the safety on.
diehli
Compare the internal safety pad on the suspect gun with yours. There's likely an angle at the top of the pad where there shouldn't be and possibly an angle at the bottom of the safety pad on the sear.
