canuk
so what are you guys who run open glocks doing (if anything) to your mags when shoving them in those big magwells? large baseplates so they are easy to fire in? is so, what do you recommend? firemantj
I have the Dawson Toolless basepads on my G24 magazines. It is a great grip point for reloads. And it adds enough weight so mags drop free. The toolless design makes cleaning mags after a dusty stage a breeze.
warpspeed
I use the Taylor Freelance ones and they work great. I have a Dawson pad but have not put it on one yet but i don't see why it would be a problem. I run a G17 frame with a SJC magwell.
Noximus03
I run TF's with an SJC well. Love the way they run, but you need to break it down for cleaning and have to do it quickly, forget it.
paopao
Also used dawson basepads plus the tape.
canuk
With the limit to only 10 rounds i'm thinking the TF +0 brass pads might be my only option... as far as I can tell.
prreed10
I used the Lightning Strike pads and modified them to make weight/fit the box for IDPA. I completed all the work about 3 months before Dawson released these: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=138311&st=0&p=1556212&hl=glock&fromsearch=1entry1556212
canuk
I used the Lightning Strike pads and modified them to make weight/fit the box for IDPA. I completed all the work about 3 months before Dawson released these: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=138311&st=0&p=1556212&hl=glock&fromsearch=1entry1556212 Hey thanks Prreed! As this is an open gun, and they are similar in price, which do you recommend? the .300 Dawson or the lightning strike? the the Lightning strike any thicker (depth) than the .300 dawson? looks like it might be. I'm thinking a little weight will help. Edited June 17, 2012 by canuk
canuk
So let me add to my question... I am relegated to 10round mags up in Canada so need a +0 base pad. Which one(s) will work with my mag and not add capacity?
prreed10
The Lightning Strike were just a tad heavier, but not by much. These are all +0 and add no capacity to the mags. I'd also look into brass basepads, since this will be on an open gun. they will be heavier.
canuk
Are the TF pads the only brass ones?
