Different Primer with my 223 Load Question

I have been loading my 223’s with Winchester SRP and just picked up some Federal Match SR primers. Can I expect any change in pressure or velocity? My load is 24.5gr of TAP with Nosler 69gr match bullets and yes I will check the velocity when I can.

Any time you change components you'll get different results. Some primers are known to be hotter than others. The hotter one's will ignite the powder faster, resulting in higher pressures and higher velocity. Chrono your new load for closer results.

If you go between manufacturers the velocity can be different. I chronoed some 55's with the same powder charge, rifle, etc. but different primers on the same day and got a difference of 50 fps --- Wolf 223 (faster) vs. CCI (slower).
