WoodyTX
I'll be competing in my first 3-gun Saturday, and have a Remington 870 that I'll be using. I'm not buying too much for the competition, but I do have two barrels for the shotgun, a 20" with a rib and Rem-Chokes, and an 18" cylinder bore that will take a heat shield. In practicing reloading, I've already heated up my left hand a bit (I do the flip, load, flip routine, but I'm open to advice) with the 20" barrel. But the chokes and more intuitive rib are handy, as is the additional round or two (yes, for some reason, I have appropriate extensions for both...). Thanks in advance for any advice. Clint-M
Shoot the 20" and wear a glove so you don't burn your hand. Are you shooting at BOTW this weekend? CM Edited May 17, 2012 by Clint-M
Don Springer
Use the 20 and just make sure when you flip the gun over you have the receiver in your hand and not the barrel. This will keep your hand from burning and will be more stable during your load.
mlmiller1
I agree, shoot the 20" & wear a glove. The cylinder bore will give you fits if there is any steel at much distance. Unless of course you like shooting high brass #6 shells. You might get away with that but really, for knocking over steel, the 20 with chokes will help you out a LOT! WoodyTX
Yes, I'll be at BotW. I'll be the FNG with more gun than ability... Sounds like I'll be shooting the rib, no BBQ sauce. Thanks!
bishop414
Also, I can attest that when you burn your hand on the barrel, you will not do it again, at least not the same day.
Outbreak
I'll be the FNG with more gun than ability... Sounds like lots of us, myself obviously included. Don't have to be an FNG to buy nice guns.
