I did make a call to STI the other and was told 15 lbs main spring for 40sw, which seems quite light for factory. Anyone knows for certain? Braxton1 Posted May 18, 2012 Share Posted May 18, 2012 If we're talking "mainspring" as in "that's the real name for the hammer spring", then it is 21# from the factory. The original mainspring for the .40 is 21 lbs. The recoil spring is usually 14/15 lbs. Although the STI usually has the heavy recoil master on the .40.
