Stand in the location you are going to mount your press. Raise your press hand keeping your elbow at your side. (Like swearing in, in court.) Make a fist and put the end of the tape measure in your raised fisted hand and let it drop to the floor. Get another person to read the measurement to the floor. This measurement will be the highest the handle of your press should be mounted without fatigue. Grab your press. Measure from the top of the handle to the bottom of your strong mount. Subtract this from your original Hand to floor measurement. Now you have the custom bench height for your body. Note: If you have a case feeder, make sure your ceiling is high enough before building your bench. To make this work for a sitting bench. Important: Find a chair you will use for the rest of your life. If you change your chair height your measurements will change. Sit in the chair and follow the instructions while sitting. my height with fist is 82 inches thanks that great idea if i had my strong mount all ready any one have any ideas how long the aluminum roller handle is too the base strong mount Strong Mount. from standing to balded fist is 82 inch's does that help items I am planning on getting next month : Strong Mount Bullet Tray Aluminum Roller Handle Empty Case Bin and Bracket
Guest
I took a different approach which is less human factors oriented...I want the top of the primer tube at least as high as my eyeballs and maybe an inch or two higher. I wear safety glasses (we all do while reloading, don't we?) but I figure if that primer stack goes off I want my important junk below the plane of exit. Coincidently, this also puts me in a comfortable position to pull the handle and feed cases and bullets. I reload while sitting down on an old wooden accountant's chair from the '30s. The pain of sitting in that old chair keeps me focused on what is going on with the press.
