Hi fellow shooters,

I would like to inform those of you who intend to participate in the second ERC.

Here is the video presentation:

Due to the fact I haven't enough posts, link is was not able to attach. Please visit VIMEO and type ERC 2012

Here is also some useful information, also available on GV:

The ERC2012 will be held on the National Navy University's shooting range in Belyakovets village, district of Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria.

The exact location of the range is N 43 07`00``/ E 25 33`37``

Firearms Import:

Few information about temporary importing your firearms and ammo in Bulgaria:

EU shooters can enter the country with European Firearms passport and invitation.

Non EU shooter must apply for a temporary import permit issued by relevant authority.

The Organizing body of the Dynamic Shooting Federation will assist you in this process.

We have asked for certain changes to facilitate

the permit-issue process, which are to be formally approved soon and the respective information

will be published on the website, most probably beginning of

next January.

- the competitors will be asked to provide their passport and gun details

by filling in the dedicated form from the www; (as soon as available, will be posted here too)

- the competitors will have to pay in advance, separate from the

match fee, the permit tax which is to cover the fees that authorities are charging for

issuing the respective individual temporary import gun permit;

- the Organizing Committee and BDSF are going to take care of all paperwork

so that at the end the border controls will be notified prior to your arrival;

- all of the above will follow the implemented competitor's registration process.

Accommodation:

Our suggestion is for two hotels, they support the IPSC event with special rates:

Don't hesitate to contact me in case you need additional information on registration or sponsorship program.

Cheers,

Alex

Dear Friends,

In the next few days the Regional Directors will receive the information about the number of allocated slots for your respected regions. However, I'm also publishing some important notes regarding the deadlines and the payment information, which might be also useful for all of us.

Based on the rules for minimum number of 20 registered competitors per each separate division and 5 registered competitors per each separate category attending the match, the following Divisions and Categories will be recognized for the match:

Divisions:

• Semi-Auto Open;

• Semi-Auto Standard;

Categories:

• Senior;

• Super Senior.

The amount of the match fees and the deadlines for payments and registration are as follows:

Match fees:

• Individual match fee – EUR 250

• Registration of teams and payment of team fees – May 15

Please note that if a payment has not been received until end of the banking day on February 29th 2012, such will be considered as a refusal by the Region to utilize the initially allocated slots and those will be counted as slots returned in excess for further reallocation to other interested regions.

Please also note that no deposit will be refunded in case of rejecting and/or not paying the full amount for the additionally requested and allocated slots within the specified deadlines. The match fee of not shown up competitors is subject of not refund.

All payments must be transferred in net amount and free of any bank charges due to the beneficiary considering the following bank details:

Reasons of payment: ERC2012 match fee by Region "Name of the region".

After arranging of each payment, the region must explicitly inform the organizers by the dedicated e-mail for the breakdown of the payment done (i.e. Match fees for X competitors, Y Lady, Z Junior, etc.).

Each region must also inform the organizers by dedicated e-mail regarding the number of additionally requested slots as well as in case of returning of any initially allocated excess slots within the specified deadlines.

Please note that the only one dedicated e-mail for any correspondence regarding the slots and payment information is slot@erc2012.eu. Any other messages sent to whatever other e-mail addresses will not be considered as official and no further action will be taken with such a respect.

I hope to see you soon at the range!

Talked to KurtM the other day about this match and told him that I was in.

I think I'll shoot in the semiauto standard division. ;)

Prize table or not I'll drop a few matchs to make this one.

Plus I'll take the wife along and get out of a European vacation to places I don't really want to go.

The competitors' registration itself will be process by the RDs through the registration panel on the match website. The RDs will be given some web access details valid for the registration purposes only. Currently the system is already functional but under some testing by our IT team.

The other necessary information as your travel details, boarder crossing points, gun manufacturers' numbers, preliminary issuing of local gun import permits (if needed for non EU pass holders), etc. will be delivered later on in the form of very easy to fill in excel template. And again :) the RDs will have to collect and forward those to the organizing committee.

Another answered question from GV forum:

Main match capacity 330

Pre Match capacity 100

How many stages 24

Round count aprox. 400

Shooting distances 3-300 м

Full day format

...lack of prize table, time off work.

I never shoot matches because there is or is not a prize table. :)

I compete because that's nice way to meet friends and make new ones.

BTW on that match there will participate world best rifle shooters. ;)

I hate it when people make comments like this!!!

I am not participating in competitive shooting as a job or to make money. I shoot because i enjoy shooting and enjoy shooting with my friends from other parts of the country/world. Unfortunately, I simply can't afford to shoot unless there is an opportunity to win something to help recoup the cost incurred for the trip, entry fees, ammunition, hotel, etc. We are fortunate enough in the US to have companies and organizations like 3 Gun Nation and the USPSA that understand this as well. These great people donate their products and services to help non professional shooters such as myself be able to participate more.

I don't understand why having a prize table causes people to accuse others of being greedy???

Jesse, I do agree with you mate, whilst i shoot a lot of IPSC matches I do find it amazing how IPSC can hold a match the size of a Europeans, or lets take the World Shotgun this year, it cost $500 USD to enter, twice as much as any US 3gun match, there will be no prizes other than plaques and a medal to the top 3 in each class ...... The other 240 competitors can go swing.....

As you know Kurt and Traps and other have travelled to Europe a few times for these large IPSC matches and they are great comps, but I dont blame people for not coming if they are looking for anything more than a plastic trophy to counter the trips cost. I travelled to Hungary last year to shoot the Euro Shotgun Champs and the whole trip cost about $2000 USD, I came 12th and had a great time, I enjoyed going and taking part but all I had to show for it was a great time with mates and a hefty credit card bill. Had I come 12th in Tac Optics at a major 3 gun match in the US I would have had a nice prize to walk away with and sell on. This is something I do think IPSC need to think about. Kouzi, sorry didnt mean to steal the thread.

Anyway I have shot the European Rifle Championships a few years ago and these guys really do put on an excellent world class rifle match of the like not seen in the US - If you can make this match you will not be dissapointed and it will be worth every dime - and if you think the Europeans dont know how to run an AR and will be a push over, just ask Kurt, Traps and Kelly and they will set you straight !

Well,

Talking of prize I can't say if there will be some or not...but let's less talk money :-) Thanks

I personally would be honored to be selected among the best national shooters and to be part of team participating in EURO/WORLD Shoots...

EURO/WORLD Shoots are unforgettable moments and spent $$$ tends to be easily in the past :cheers:

I'd love to shoot this match (especially since I'm originally from Europe), but unfortunately I'm with Jesse on this. For the same time and money it would take to shoot this match, I could do four, or maybe even five, major 3-gun matches across the US.

Selected? If i contact the USPSA president and tell him I can afford to go I just selected myself. It's not prestigious to be in the US team The only honor comes from winning.
