sauza45
I have a STI 170 mag in 40 and was wondering if it can be changed to run 38sc, or would I be better of to just get one set up for 38sc.
Garrett
Since nobody else answered... just sell it and buy a .38 mag.
raysracer
The problem is the width of the mag. .40 mags are slightly wider than the 38 super mags. I tried using .40 mags for 9mm once. Left the appropriate mag at home. What a disaster! The feed lips were too wide. All sorts of FTF problems. You're probably better off selling the mag and getting a new one. If you're willing to sell, let me know. I'll be interested.
yoshidaex
The width of the mags are the same for 9/38, 40 and 45. Its the ribs and feed lip dimensions that determine which caliber its for. Sell the 40 tube and get one for 9/38.
