kevin c
Other threads got me thinking about having a supply of ammunition that my club could have on hand for calibration challenges, that might be more consistent than off the shelf in terms of being in the 115.0 to 125.0 PF range that is "highly recommended". The load I came up with was tailored to run just about 125 PF through a stock G34 barrel, figuring that it's being 5.32" long and polygonally rifled would make it a bit faster than most of what might be used as a calibration gun. The load recipe and how it ran is laid out below. Feel free to add any good loads of your own, and what PF they made and through what gun. 3.3 grains N320, MG 147 CMJ, WSP, 1.125" COL. PF's using averaged velocities of 15 rounds fired at ten feet. G17 stock barrel (4.49") 123.5 PF G17 BarSto bbl (4.49") 123.6 PF Beretta 92 stock bbl (4.90") 121.4 PF G34 (three stock 5.32" bbls, averaged) 124.8 PF As always, load at your own risk. Nik Habicht
3.61 of Titegroup (36.10 for ten charges) under a 115 gr. Hornady XTP JHP at 1.100 inches chrono'd at an average of 1080 fps out of my Glock 34s for a 124.2 pf, with the high round (out of 20 tested) clocking in at 1084 fps for a power factor of 124.660. The Extreme Spread was less than 20 fps. Out of a Glock 19, the same load clocked in at an average of 1030 fps for a power factor of 118.450; the high round (out of ten fired) was 1040 fps for a 119.600 pf. Your mileage might vary.... Also please note -- while this load appeared safe out of my guns, I only fired a total of 30 rounds. Replicate at your own risk.....
Flexmoney
I split this topic. Lets keep this thread for calibration ammo load data, and the other for general discussion of such. Here is the link to the general discussion of calibration ammo. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=163653 - Admin.
