mrwhite1
I want a steel picatiny scope base for an Ithaca Deerslayer 3 shotgun. The only 2 bases I can find for it are a Weaver model 62 and a EGW aluminum one Any recommendations on who I could get to make a steel one? whistlepig
Any quality steel picatinny rail could be be fitted to the gun.... If the the gun is already tapped for a base, the new mount may need to have new holes drilled for the mounting screws to line up. Last months precision shooting magazine had a good article about bedding picatinny rails to rifles to strengthen and true the mounting. Good read. larry weeks
Brownells sells a steel Badger rail (#093-000-030) for the Remington 870 that you might be able to adapt. They also have flat-bottom, steel picatinny base stock from Moulds. Of course, you'd have to mill the contour into the bottom...
