Rangertim
I generally load Montana Gold 115gr FMJ for my production gun. With 4.4gr of Titegroup I get right at a 131PF. However, I recently got a great deal on some Montana Gold 115gr CMJ and am wondering, will having a jacketed base cause any changes in my velocity? If I were to guess, I might think that I would actually get some increases in velocity.....? If anyone out there has tried this and knows if it makes a difference I would appreciate the intel. Thanks.
Pro2AInPA
I wouldn't think it would make any difference that would be enough to spend any time worrying about. The weight of the bullet and it's construction (lead vs jacketed vs plated) on the surface that contacts the rifling are what matter. Use the same load and enjoy the complete absence of smoke. Sarge
I went from MG 124 CMJ's to FMJ's and back to CMJ's. No notable difference other than less smoke with CMJ's.
