GunslingerDK
I'm having a friend cut the slide on my Eaa Limited, he's is very skilled so I'm sure it's gonna be amazing. The slide is stainless steel. Do we need to re-finish the slide in any way? And if yes, should the entire slide be done or only where the slots are? Pat Miles
Depending on what the cuts look like after the fact and what overall finish you want you can either lightly polish the area or whole slide or do a light bead blast for a satin finish. The beauty of stainless is that there is minimum work to refinish whereas carbon steel needs to be re-blued or re-coated if it already had an after market finish applied. JorDanO
I'm pretty sure the Tanfoglio's are hard chromed carbon steel, not stainless

Is it harder than SS?
RBros
Hard Chroming does make the steel more difficult to cut, similar to nitriding. If it is hardchromed and the cuts are clean, it will probably not need any refinishing.
