Sinclair Expander Mandrel

I appear to be failing an IQ test for how to assemble my new Sinclair Expander Mandrel into the Sinclair Std 7/8-14 Expander Die.

Anyone using these and know how I'm supposed to fit them together? Sinclair's website says something about an O ring... not seeing that. The expander looks like it's one piece.

Unscrew the cap on die and insert mandrel. If no O-ring came with the die go to Home Depot, etc and find one that fits inside the die cap

cap should come right off and the mandrel drops in, then the cap holds it in place. it should be a pretty painless install.

That's embarrassing. Yes, indeed it took a little more effort to unscrew but it was that simple.

good deal. make sure when you're sizing the brass, you set the die up so the case neck doesn't bottom out against the base of the mandrel. you don't need to make a full press stroke, just enough to get the mandrel fully into the case mouth then back out.
