XDM40 4.5 0r 3.8

I am buying a XDM 40 to use for 3 gun and whatever else I come up with, would the 3.8 work or should I stick with the 4.5 for the longer barrel?

I think the 4.5 has better balance. I was all excited about the 3.8 coming out, then when it did, I handled one and didnt like it at all. The 4.5 also has the benefit of a slightly long sight radius....

if your going to use it for competition, ie 3 gun. then i would get the 4.5. I have the xd9 tactical (5 in barrel) and I love it. It gives me a great sight picture and allows me to handle the recoil very well. I would get the 3.8 if it was going to be a duty/concealed/home defense gun.

I wish i could have gotten the xdm because i have smaller hands and adjusting the back plate would have been nice for me but stupid california doesn't allow them for some dumb reason. Kinda like allowing people to buy 1% milk but not fat free milk lol. Just dumb
