TRev1911
I believe he hit the nail on the head, My sister is a family practice physician and she stopped delivering babies due to the high cost of malpractice insurance. In many areas of the country it is getting diffcult to find a doctor willing to invest the time / cost necessary for high risk pregnancies. Jake Di Vita
Maybe with a little luck this will lead to a revolutionary change of how we view nutrition and conditioning of the human frame.
3quartertime
I don't have time to read through all of this, but considering the subject I'd say that there is plenty of political crap either in it or hovering over it. Tread lightly if you want this to be an open discussion...
JimmyZip
Thanks 3qt, There is a strange thing here in the valley where we live that I have been told exixsts in other parts of the country. I am the rare person among my friends that has a "regular" doctor. Thing is, most physiscians around here are specialists. When you go to the doctor, she/he tells you whats wrong if they know without a doubt in their mind. If they are in any way suspicious that it might be or even could be something else, they send you to a specialist. It is that doctor who really takes a second look and treats/diagnoses you. That's with a PPO, or other such insurance. Otherwise you go to the local county type hospital and wait with alot of poor/homeless/mentally ill persons and wait for some doctors who are overworked, and/or uninterested in making you feel better. Not that they are not trying to cure you, but these doctors deal with alot of people who can't take care of themselves or even don't want too. Makes for some interesting people watching if you have the time, which I don't. Just the view from here.

CSEMARTIN
I think Jake is right. If people took better care of themselves, it would save a lot of money. Edit: I removed the rest of my comments. This topic hits too close to home and I get myself worked up over it. 17 years of school to get to where I am, and I spend so much time trying to figure a way out of the mess I see coming. Mark K
Maybe with a little luck this will lead to a revolutionary change of how we view nutrition and conditioning of the human frame. While I agree that we should all do more to take care of ourselves, isn't this a little like saying if they outlaw guns it would be good for us because we will all force us all to learn hand to hand combat? Jake Di Vita
I don't see any similarity between the two statements. *shrug
Sam
Taking good care of my body makes way more sense to me than taking good care of my house or truck. And by far, it is the cheapest of the three to maintain.
