D.Hayden
I went through searches looking for Sierra's in 223, looking for a begining recommendation. What's more common to use: 52's 53's or 69's? It'll be for a Mini-14 (through Accuracy Systems 1-9 twist) if it matters. Don't even have it yet, just getting ready. TBF
Sierra 52 gr. Matchking, over 25.0 H335, Win SRP, LC brass, or Win. Shoots good thru just about anything. Travis F.
George
Any 52-55 grain projectile over about 27 grains of WW748 will also work real well in most anything. Set OAL from 2.225" to 2.240". The 55 grainers like 27.5 gr of 748 @ 2.225" in my 20" AR's which gets 3075-3100 fps. With careful workup a 52-53 grain projectile will take a little bit more powder. Try 23-24 grains of WW748 under a Sierra 69 or Hornady 68 at 2.245" OAL as a starter, 25 grains of 748 is considered a standard for the Sierra 69 in AR loading. Pretty much anything an AR eats, a Mini will love too. Regards,
