CocoBolo
Headed for TX State Limited looking to get pointed right way for about a 170pf Load using the BayouBullets 180gr Gator Snot coated bullet. Only have time for a couple crono sessions. Tem figure 95+. I found a lot of N320 loads for Jacketed bullets which I know is 5.0gr been there done that. Precision 185 is 4.4gr. Found some clays loads but none for 180gr Moly/Lead. OAL my gun eats anything between 1.140 and 1.200. LAPAU says 4.1gr @ 1.126 goes 968 with a 180gr lead bullet, I'm not buying it. Suggestions? I have lots of Clays on hand as well.
CocoBolo
Shucks I didn't get any replies but I forged ahead did CRONO testing today. 4.1 isn't even close to major 4.3 set 1.150 was a puney 159+ pf, punching the load up to 4.7gr at 1.180 put it right at 170pf. The SD and ES were very good it was very consistent. Semi Final analysis is the feel was very similar to my 171pf load using Precision 185gr and 4.8gr of WST. I'm thinking that N320 gives an advantage in a 180gr Jacketed bullet over other loads but doesn't do that well with the Moly bullets when compared to WST, why pay twice the price when WST shoots just as clean and soft except for a little smoke. chbrow10
Did you use N320 or Clays for the data posted above?
