fastarget
How are the rules interpreted on these pads, they will fit in the box, but dont necessarely add the weight of a brass or other creative mag pads?
jrb06
Should be O.K. The main concern would be added weight and fittting in the box. The rules state no competitive advantage such as weighted magazines. MD would have to make the decision as to rather or not it is and advantage
Gregg K
The rulebook is clear enough on this that you don't need to consult the match director. The gun must fit the box with the magazine in question and the magazine can not be considered a weighted magazine. Here is the rulebook definition of a weighted magazine... Weighted Magazine: Any magazine that weighs more than one (1) ounce over the weight of a factory standard magazine for the specific pistol in question. If it fits the box and is within the limits of not being 1 oz over a factory magazine then you are good to go.
fastarget
Sounds like it should be good. I was at a local match yesterday and saw some (liked them, will look at getting some) but we had nothing to weight them with, since they were aluminum, I told the shooter it was ok. you run into little things and you have to make a guess. There was a shooter with an ed brown with the competition mag release as it comes from ed brown. He unscrewed it off. Little stuff, but lots of fun was had by all.
