Mack1207
When I was in Iraq a few years ago we were doing a recovery mission looking for a F18 and its pilot. Because of the mission, we had F18 support over head. In the middle of the desert, sleeping on cots after a 20 hour day of sifting through airplane parts and digging up Iraq, we were buzzed by on of our support birds at 50 feet or so. Immediately woke us all up and we immediately tracked it by turning our heads as it wizzed by... wrong choice as it kicked up a wall of sand in the opposite direction. Thanks guys. Greatest 18 minutes of sleep in my life. I will never forget those beautiful 18 minutes...
hankfan79
#6 I have seen in person while stationed in Pensacola (home of the Blue Angels). Amazing show they put on. I've also seen the Thunderbirds put on a cool show.
sniperfrog
A friend of mine was an F14 pilot in the first Gulf war. He was flying over Saudi with his wing man both doing about 600 knots at 100 feet off the deck and flew over two guys and blew them off their camels. He said the A6 guys would fly less than 50 feet off the deck. Edited January 30, 2012 by sniperfrog
