Jack Suber
I am about to transition to a 1050 (buying a used one set-up for 38 Super from a friend). I only shoot Limited with a 40 cal. I have been using and will keep a 550 on hand. I am hoping that all I will have to do is buy caliber conversions and toolheads for the 1050, thinking that the powder measures I have for the various toolheads on my 550 are the same as those used on the 1050. Are they? It would suck if I have to buy another powder measure in addition to the one that comes with the press. My plan is to have the 1050 set-up for 40, one toolhead for my match loads and one for my practice (lead) loads. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks and take care. dillon
The powder measures are the same. The powder die used on the 1050 series is heat treated, and is finished in black oxide to provide visual identification.
