DyNo!
If they can make it in 9mm major, can't we do it in SC? I've got a ton of this stuff and I don't mind if it runs dirty.
gm iprod
I did many years ago, the main reason I tried it was for the same reason had swags and needed to get rid of it. The OAL is the same then as now, Zero 125gr JHP 1.225". 6.6gr was the maximum in the Winchester book at the time, it was supposed to deliver 1245fps but with my 6" barrel I got about 1300fps. I ran it up to about 1370fps at about 7.0gr, pressure was starting to look a bit high. Nice and consistant velocities, but accuracy was not as I wanted. PF back then was 175, so I needed to run 7.3gr and it came out a tiny amount over that. But even with Rifle Primers they were taking a hiding. I ran WAP for while, god that was awful. In the end I gave the last of my WSF to a freind who was loading 9mm and he was happy. I switched to N350 and HS7 (all that I could find) finally they changed the PF and I could back the old girl down. I think heavier bullets work better in 38Super / Comp with WSF, but I only had the 125gr. The load data from Winchester is the same as my old book, I just checked. mda
You can but not the best powder for a comp gun, not enough gas and like Dyno stated you are pushing he edge pretty good. I used it for pratice ammo, would make a good steel load, and loaded it just under major at about 155-160 PF. My loads were very close to his at major. Glockcomma
I used it for 9mm Major in my Glock open guns, but it can be spiky. I now use Silhouette which is the same as WAP. Tim
gm iprod
I had a feeling Silhouette was WAP, it just seemed to do the same job the same way. Hopefully they got some of the nastiness out of it. I found WAP too aggressive on the gun. Had a few people blow up 38SUper open guns, probably pushing the PF a little and it bit them.
