happened to me 2 years ago with a cz 85 without decocker.at the last stage (stage 9 and im really tired of the match . RO says " load and make ready" i make ready "RO says hammer down" (ipsc production rules has to start hammer down for 1st shot must me DA" as i hammer down my thumb slips from the hammer and goes bang.... shooter is DQ 'ed......after that i switched to a glock he he he

You should have arbitrated that one for the confusing, non-standard range command.

yep somebody told me that before..but i was pretty much new in the game and dont know much of the rules back then..oh well charge to experience i guess

I have a Tanfoglio (CZ clone) that I sometimes use for Production Division.

It's fitted with a frame-mounted safety thus no decocking lever.

I always thought that the safest and best way to decock the hammer was:

1. Pinch hammer between thumb and middle finger, while putting the index finger between hammer and slide.

2. Carefully squeeze the trigger, allowing the hammer to disengage the sear.

3. Accompany hammer to rest with thumb and middle finger, while retracting index finger.

4. Release the trigger.

It should allow you to put the hammer completely at rest without ADs.

thats also a good way do move it back to DA mode...but what the top cz shooters do is they improvise a thick wire to put between the hammer and slide so they just pull the trigger and they are all set...i should have dome this before...well ..........
