I've been having the same issue. Lots of good info here. Next time i'm at the range I'll try doing some slow mo filming to get more info.

I'm pretty interested in checking it out. Id like to try out the 2011 platform, and the Prodigy seems like it would be a good start as well, but if the Tisas is almost half the price and only slightly crappier might be the play.

I used a vortex venom for a little bit. The only thing I didn't like was the dot would get washed out on really sunny days. Other than that had no issues with it.

I know there's been a lot of discussion on electronic ear protection over the years but I was looking for some recommendations for ear muffs that have really good sound reproduction. I currently use the howard leight impact pros which are great at reducing gun shot sounds. But I can hear someone loading a mag 40 ft away and still not be able to understand someone talking to me 6 ft away. Anyone have suggestions for over the ear protection that maybe has a better mic or maybe equalization?

Ah thanks for the insight. I didn’t realize how much the rock island differed from the rest of the 2011s. Also having the prodigy cut for an optic is a really nice addition.

Does anyone have any experience with a RIA 2011 vs the Prodigy? Is it worth the extra ~$600?
