    JM Spring Kit

I managed to D-I-M(Do-It-Myself) my 625 and installed the JM springs. It is a lot lighter now though I couldn't truly quantify the poundage of pull. I will try it out in the range tomorrow if it ignites all my available primers If I backed out the strain screw, I mean the stock unfiled-off screw, does it risks getting dislodged? The instruction was to file off and tighten, isn't it? Where can I get my spare screws and springs for my 625? thanks for all the inputs!
  2. Since we are very far from Mike Carmoney to do his magic on our 625's(we are in the Philippines), I was wondering if this kit can somehow make our triggers better. What's your consensus on this product? The instruction insert says you file off the strain screw once you get a 7lb-pull. However, the disclaimer specifies Federal primers which again isn't available in our setting. What if we use the JM mainspring and not file off the strain screw, tightening it the way with the stock mainspring, will it address the Fed primer issue? I'm interested before I order on-line. Again, thanks to all revo gurus, I am now a revo convert. (I see my forum friend Merlin also is.)
  3. Thank you for the replies. Now that my 625-8 has arrived, I will start to try both styles and see what works.
  4. Please give some inputs on your preferred manner of doing your reload. I am a revo rookie and am wanting to learn. Thank you in advance. -dagz
  5. Thanks for all the replies. I understand the NM has a 4-post design which is the original. I know recently that it also has a single-post design. This is not to split hairs but I just want to know your consensus.
  6. Somehow my choices were narrowed down to these two. I hope to hear your comments soon. Thanks to all. Dagz
  7. Thanks cas! That is cool!
  8. I use a Ghost revolver holster and am very happy with it. Hey Bernie! Can you share some photos of your rig? Thanks.
  9. any more holster inputs??? thanks.
  10. Out of curiosity.... does anybody here use the Super Ghost Ultimate Revolver Holster? Their site features one similar to Speed Sec, without the extension for the barrel. Again thanks.
  11. Lots of thanks to all!!!
  12. Can you please share a picture of the Speed Sec with your own 625? I think that model is interesting. Thanks.
  13. Thank you for your replies. CR Speed offers speed and lesser drag because of fewer contact points. Sidearmor looks cool. Question is: Do Kydex holster mar the finish of your 625's? Again thanks.
  14. Hello again! I would like to solicit your advice on which holster to get for IPSC type competitons. What's your preference and why? Pictures are highly appreciated. Thank you. Dagz

    Dry-firing

    Thanks for your inputs
  16. Thanks for the inputs and replies. The serial number I saw on the 625-8 was sort of a laser etching/printing on the hinge that holds the cylinder(I apologize for my choice of words/terms used). As long as you don't warn me of any batch number to watch out I think my order will be fine. I opted for the 5 inch barrel(I am happy to find that there are still a few around here in the Philippines) since I'll be shooting it in IPSC-PPSA matches. IDPA is not that popular here, at least not yet. I figured revolver shooters are a rare breed(if my calculations are correct, barely 5% [or less] of PPSA total population). And I wanted to learn this discipline. What holster do you prefer for IPSC? (The issues on moon clips and moon clip holder are pretty well covered in this forum) Again thanks. All of you have been very helpful. -dagz
  17. Another newbie query: Is there a proper way to "break-in: a new 625? What's your suggested routine? what to watch out for? How can I verify the serial number? Thanks.
  18. Wow! you all got very good looking guns! I'm turning green in envy. As they say, the best way to fight off your favorite temptation is to give in, I 'm getting my 625-8 very soon. My question is: Is it normal to have those backened discoloration on the trigger and hammer of an S&W? Sorry, this will yet be my very first revo. Thanks for all your inputs.
  19. Wow pretty rubber grips. Where can we get those? Thanks.
  20. I have both guns, a Glock and a SS1911A1 and have shot in both divisions. I personally prefer the Single Stack. I find it more challenging and tactical. With limited number of rounds, you can't afford to miss, you can't afford to make extra shots. I find it more "cost-effective" to shoot.
  21. Thanks for all your inputs. Which barrel length should be good for competition? Is the "trigger job" sort of D-I Y? Again thanks! and I'd like to hear more.
  22. I am new to revolvers, I shoot 1911's and Glocks. I am seriously considering this revolver for my first. Please share your inputs, comments, reviews to help me make an informed choice before buying. Thanks.
  23. Can anyone tell us what gun did Rob Leatham use to win this year? Please be specific.
  24. Keep 'em coming. Who shot and with what gun? 40's vs. 45's
