  1. I'm headed up there today and here is my prediction for the unofficial sponsor of this match after the first couple shooters start hitting C's and D's. See ya there
  2. Looking forward to it! Any preference going to those who shot it in years past if it fills up before the 20th?
  3. So as someone who has to compete against you Smittty you should run a 6-20 power scope you bought while drunk off of gun broker for $23.74 with some three letter acronym like BSA or SOL on it.
  4. I designed a stage where we did shotgun off the back of a moving truck a few months ago. Shooter sat on the tailgate , truck accelerated to 15mph which made it both fast and fun. We also scored it hit or miss we did move in a straight line at the same speed for each person. The driver was instructed to get up to speed by the time the front bumper crossed the first target. First Person Third Person View 5 pistol shots were from stationary truck to start, on 5th shot the driver accelerated to 15mph and held it until the stopping point. We also gave the shooters only one shot per target I think it was 8 shots in total. The RO sat in bed of truck behind shooter and it went over without any issues. We also made the shotgun + pistol portion untimed and then had a par time after the shooter got off the truck for a rifle portion. It worked out well. Since we had a small number of targets we had each shooter reset their own targets on the way back to the start point.
  5. Glad to hear it. Perhaps a mention of that somewhere in the rules would be a nice touch... as well as an address people can use for their 5320.20 forms with the BATFE
  6. 1) The contradiction is a rulebook versioning issue and will be updated. Targets are impenetrable and a shoot throughs don't count as stated in the 2nd paragraph you quoted. This will be fixed. Thanks for clearing this up. "Shots that penetrate "Shoot Targets" and hit No Shoot targets count as a hit on No Shoots. The shooter still receives point on the shoot target but incurs the No Shoot penalty as well." 2) Regarding Tac Ops muzzle brakes, we will only measure brakes in MilLe div at Nats. You're good to go. Thank you for requesting clarification of these important rule issues. Have a great weekend and see you in November! ~Mac Are suppressors considered muzzle devices ? I have a few people in my group who would like to shoot suppressed in tac ops if possible.
  7. Toss in some support side , inverted prone shotgun shots for the pros to make things interesting
  8. Sorry to hear that Jesse. For future reference (and for anyone else traveling withg guns via airlines) at many airports you can ask that TSA agents verify the firearms (do their little explosive wipe thing and sign off on the bag) prior to it going into the baggage conveyor. This should keep subsequent TSA guys from having to cut locks and pull this kind of crap. Your current situation is the very reason I write a note to the TSA and stick it in the top layer of my bags giving my flight #'s , cell phone and my wifes cell # so there is absolutely no reason for them to do what they did to you. Here's a post I did a while back that outlines how I travel with machine guns quite often with little or no drama. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=142249&p=1676021 -Todd
  9. Will there be an area for sight-in / verification? I'm afraid of what the luggage monkeys are going to do to my gun as I travel and I'd like to verify zero when I arrive
  10. Geissele Super 3g (S3G) is what I'm running and I love it. Their support and customer service is excellent too. http://geissele.com/super3guns3gtrigger.aspx
  11. Don't shoot the NS plates Or change your angle to the target to minimize NS exposure or change your hold on the target i.e (NS is on left.. hold right half of target)
  12. This looks like a fun match! FYI The Pro stage 6 description says 10 paper targets... I count 11
  13. I'd be in favor of seeing the entire section that says no more than 50% can be covered be removed. Is this about shooting skill or making people feel good that they hit a huge target
  14. Thanks for the input and yes you are correct I was holding on some and exhaling on others. ll the videos I shoot serve as an eternal reminder of my progression and as training tools for me to grow. I'm a year into this sport with my AR-15 so I have a long way to go but this kind of advice is exactly what I need to hear. Thanks!
  15. I almost forgot to mention what an outstanding job JC Wren did with the scores using both paper and practiscore together. . How he did it in such a calm collected manner I'll never know. Thank you JC for your thoroughness and professionalism!
  16. I've posted two videos over at a new thread under the video/photo area as to not clutter this thread up with videos of me breathing heavy and sliding around. The videos are first person so you get an idea of what in the hell went down. and up.. and down... and up at this match http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=176543
  17. Quite a few people were shooting video so I'll start off with two of my runs. This was an amazing event. The videos don't even do the experience justice. Enjoy a first person view of Stage 6. AKA "The tower" aka "will fat guys make it up the stairs" stage. I made quite a few novice mistakes, but alas.. I am still a novice. I had fun and only dropped one steel and a few misses on paper. The Jab Extreme popper was a lot of fun which had a no shoot on the outside of maybe a 3 inch center on the popper. Stage 8- The Urban Training area which was a three or four bedroom house, with pool, trampoline and ramdom house stuff laying around. I was feeling a bit giddy so I did a knee slide across the living room and actually got my hits. This was perhaps my favorite stage of the match.
  18. Just got back to FL. I'll post links to about 100+ videos sometime in the next few days. I loved the match and the challenges and all I can say is I hope you guys make it a bit tougher next year. I didn't go into full cardiac arrest this time. Maybe have the competitors bludgen themselves with a baseball bat while running on a treadmill a few dozen times before having to para drop into the course of fire to spice things up a bit. Mike and Andy + RO crew did a fantastic job. Just let me know where to sign up for next year and I'm in. I'll bring the bat and treadmill.
  19. I think the powers that be are setting up today so I'll chime in on my experience last year. This range is huge and huge may be an understatement, it's like disney land for tactical operators. The range is several thosuand acres and driving in a vehicle is a must to get from area to area. We just worked out of the vehicle last year and it worked out fine, one guy had the back seat, the other the trunk. Parking was close to all the shooting areas so it wasn't too far of a trek to staging areas from the vehicle. I know some buddies of mine are taking carts and I suppose you could always take it and not use it if things are as they were last year.
  20. Does anyone need a hotel room in Blakely? I just happen to have an extra one at the days inn
  21. points taken. 14 rounds was an arbitrary number pulled out of thin air just for the sake of an exmple. I'll chalk this up to the way it is and accept it and move on. I'm sure this too shall change in time.
