  1. IMHO...looks cool but no real use...I can see in a pistol magazine just to confirm if the magazine is full/topped off (no harm in a limited/production pistol magazine since the grip will protect the hole from debris) or perhaps a rifle magazine (debris may get in since the rifle magazine is exposed). Not to sure for a shotgun magazine tube. Now if you put some witness holes near the receiver for the last round or at the end to confirm it is topped off? I can see debris getting into the tube if the holes are there.

OK, looking for some feedback from BBD or ?

Thats the way I felt about the "holes" they would me more of a dust trap, causing mechanical problems than they would be of any other use.

I have one of these on my Beretta Xtrema 2 and it seems to work great.

I just received an extension from SureCycle for my Benelli and it dosen't have the holes. Thankfully. ;)

  2. I am not certian if this is a suitable place to post such a question.

    But its worth a shot.

I have been reading stories about Benelli SBEII owners having issues with the ComforTech recoil pad falling out.

I am curious to hear how legit this story is. And what some here have done to correct such an issue.

  3. Well even with my fingers getting wrecked I decided to go ahead and finish the cabinet :P

Here's some pics of the finished product. Solid ash with a black crushed velvet backing.

(My wife has already populated it with her little tinkerbell things <_< )

    Edited to fix typos <_<

Thats become an awful expensive cabinet B)

Many years ago my mom had bought some steel cabinets cheep, and was cleaning them up.

While cleaning them she cut the tendon in here right index finger.

  4. I have recently been trying to get things squared away so that the seller can ship a semiauto shotgun that I have purchased.

Only something has went south. Everytime the party handling the FFL transfer attempts to fax a copy of his FFL it comes back to him. I know that there are too many possibilities as to why so I won't press that question.

Though in amist of all this I have had some thoughts come to mind. Can the paying party send a copy of the FFL holders license with the payment or does it have to come from the address on the License?

And how come the FFL holder is required to send a copy of his license prior. But if the owner is shipping a firearm in for repairs no matter whether its a private gunsmith or a commercial gunsmith. The smith is not required to send a copy of thier FFL prior (to the best of my knowledge)?

  5. A 1 year old M2.. maybe 1,500 - 2,000 rounds through it.

It's giving me issues (not as bad as the 1100 though).

Besides rounds getting jammed going in (in another thread got some ideas to try tomorrow).

Every once in a while maybe 1 every 200 rounds.. the bolt won't go into battery completely.

I have a standard bolt... could I just need a new recoil spring? Is this what the lighten bolts fix?

IMO that would be the first thing I would try.

I was having the similar issues, only with a Beretta. When I replaced the recoil spring, it was a good 1" shorter than the replacement recoil spring. And I would be lucky if I had 1000 rounds through mine.

  6. Whenever I need bailed out I pickup the phone... I have always got the answer from those guys if not from here.

If the case insert slide gets enough wear in the grooves that slide on the platform.

Any nominal wear the case insert slide will have a tendancy to bind as mine did.

When you have a spring pushing one way on the bottom of the slide and a camming pin that is pushing on the slide in another direction.

    +1 for calling Dillon

  7. This is a good tripod and at a weight of 7.5 lbs it has a good strong foundation. Working height is also a plus as it will go all the way to 78" which keeps you from having to bend over for viewing.

    Zhumell

The Questar from Manfrotto is another good one.

    Questar

The Zhumell on a 50% off sale is quite a buy. It's a little heavy, but it adds to its stability. With 76.5" of usable height it's a good buy for what you are looking for I think.

I have been looking at the Bogen/Manfrotto's just haven't decided which model and head.........Just might run up to a camera shop in Omaha (weather permitting) and see whats on the market. choices

  8. How much are you willing to spend? Under $500? Under $1000? Under $2000?

Considering what I paid for this spotting scope, I don't want to be too stingy and have something that isn't stable enough. Yet I don't want to go overboard and have something worth more than the scope is either

  9. Do a search on Ebay for Star-D Davidson tripods. I believe they're out of production now, but they are all metal. I got mine for $12.99. It's all aluminum, legs extend out from 2' to 6', I really like it. I got the tip from an article on 6mmbr.com.

    Good luck

    Kevin

I got a Velbon off Ebay and it works great.

First one I had was a Velbon, a gust of wind got a hold of it knocking it over the QD base broke. And put a crack in the UV Filter on my camera. Since then I have never been able to find a replacement QD base for it.

  10. I have been looking for a reasonable tripod to use with my spotting scope, but it seems everyone out there is either so flimsy that it shakes like a leaf when the slights breeze comes up or everything that should be made from a sturdy material isn't.

After spending close to 1K for a spotting scope, I would like some legs for it that I can depend on.

  11. Before you cave in and buy a 9000g ( which is a dandy press), You might want to look foe a Dillon SL900. They are rugged, fast, easy on the learning curve. And Dillon will take care of you when you slide off the curve ( you will). As I type there are a couple used ones on trapshooters.com. I have a 900 with 50-60 k on it and I wouldnt look back. I have a lot og time on Mecs as well. Just my nickles worth.

    John

    Yes.........

    and No........

If one has plans to stick to reloading for clays per say 2 3/4" rounds then I will pass up a MEC for a Dillon any day. The SL900 is built like a tank, compared to any press that MEC has to offer. And with a warranty I think every company out there should be offering.

Though if one also has intentions of loading 3" or 3 1/2" rounds then their best bet would be an MEC. Due to the flexability, the SL900 isn't adaptable to 3" or3 1/2" rounds. Something Dillion hasn't mastered as of yet.

  12. ^^^ No... NOT everything is dropping quickly:

    EightYearGold.gif

    EightYearSilver.gif

    SixteenYearPlatinum.gif

This last one is sort of misleading.

Here is how platinum has been doing for 2008:

    2008Platinum.gif

Taking a look at the other 2 metals for 2008, it seems they all peaked in Feb/March and have been declining ever since.

Anyone here want to venture a guess as to why they all peaked then?

    I really don't know...

If my memory is "working" correctly that was about the same time they come across the party that was intentionally driving up the price of commodities yet he had no investments or intentions of investing in the market.

  13. I;m msure some people can remember it for a lot cheaper

    $9.00

    Give it time...... :D

They claim its just the housing market that will be effected.

Though I wouldn't be surprised that it effects more than just the housing market.

What gets me is that while just about every one is lowering their prices to match the current market. There are those "black sheep" out there that are still wanting $40-50 for 25lbs.
